magnificent feats
Today’s source of visual enlightenment and popcorn-eating prowess comes from my friend Rob (Canada [Montreal]).
Lectures ended early and, to my thoroughly Canadian excitement, it hit 14 C here in Aarhus on the second day of March. So Jas made a salad, I made a minestrone, Rob and Katie (United States) brought varying forms of unhealthy deliciousness, Trey brought a pizza, Amy (United States) brought her hangover, and we had a picnic on the lawn at Grundtvigs Hus until the sun went down. Two of us wore shorts. Then we tossed a frisbee, shivered, and went inside. Redressed in warmer clothes, we ate chocolate and spicy corn nuts, watched The Help in the movie room, ignored the fact that it was Friday, and retreated to our own beds for an early and comatose night’s sleep, for once.
Prominent smells from today: fresh herbs, growing plants, spring air, dirt, grass, good food, spice, my own unshowered hair.
I feel like I’m in a glass happiness bubble. At this moment, I refuse to entertain the possibility that anything beyond my current life exists.
